English for Primary or Secondary
The tuition lessons are designed to support your child on the pathway to success in primary and high school. The lessons supplement learning in school and target areas that we know Hong Kong students find most challenging.
Grammar
It aims to help students learn and revise the grammar items covered in the Primary English Curriculum and the latest CDC English Curriculum Guide for local school students, and provides clear and concise explanations of grammar rules.
Reading Comprehension
It aims at strengthening students’ reading comprehension skills and enriching their vocabulary bank as well as grammar proficiency.
Writing
Students are taught how to brainstorm ideas for the topic. They will learn some useful sentence patterns and grammar knowledge for their writing.
Vocabulary Building
Cover vocabulary words that will increase your knowledge of the English language and will help you sound professional.
Speaking
Practice speaking English with frequent repetition drills, voice recordings, and by answering questions out loud when prompted.
Listening Comprehension
Take listening quizzes that will make sure that you can understand every word at full speed.
English for DSE
The DSE tuition lessons will support your child to succeed in the DSE English exam.
The topics and areas tested in the exam change every year, so students need to have not only solid command of language but also a broad general knowledge. This is the focus of comprehension and composition for Paper 1 and 2. The teacher will systematically teach topics relating to current world issues, widening students' general knowledge and equipping them to comprehend texts on an increasingly complex range of topics and write well-informed compositions. This is supported by weekly comprehension and composition question practice tailored to each level of the students. The teacher brings this together by analysing past DSE papers through Paper 1, 2, 3 and 4, anticipating common errors and teaching key exam strategies.
English for Adults
These work-related tuitions are for students who have some fluency in using English, but who still have problems with basic grammar and little confidence in using English in their everyday working life.
The lessons focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary-building, and concentrate on work-related themes.
After taking the lessons students will be able to talk easily with other speakers about work and social issues, speak clearly enough to be easily understood by others, exchange opinions both face-to-face and over the telephone, deal confidently in English with difficult situations, use English to make decisions and solve problems. You will be taught how to write letters and emails in correct format and style, use the basic vocabulary of marketing, planning, products, entertainment and socializing.
IELTS Exam Preparation
The IELTS Exam Preparation lessons give you the confidence and skills required to get the result you need in the IELTS test. The lessons focus on different elements of the exam - listening, reading, writing and speaking by offering exam techniques, helpful insights and individual feedback. Extra attention is given to the writing test, which is commonly a weaker area for most students.
